junebug / 744 Camp Street New Orleans

Junebug is a sumptuous new Warehouse District dining bar and event space featuring a menu of sophisticated, albeit wholly unpretentious dishes, ingredient-driven cocktails, farm-forward wines and small-production beer & spirits set to a lush analog soundtrack of collectible vinyl.
With Chef Shannon Bingham at its helm, expect a compact menu of French & Creole inflected plates that'll run the gamut from savory snacks to decadent sandwiches and playful takes on old favorites - all of which will emphasize the dynamic bar program led by Sophie Burton and built around spirit-driven cocktails inspired by the classics, technique-focused and dedicated to details that make the difference. Another special feature of Junebug’s bar offerings will be a deep selection of brandies, eau de vies and fruit-based spirits, which will show up in seasonal cocktails while simultaneously providing a unique opportunity to taste a broad range of storied but hard to find offerings from around the world.

Founded in 2025 by The Neighborhood Restaurant Group, Junebug is a bar, restaurant and private event space designed as a celebration of convivial drinking and dining in the historic Warehouse District of New Orleans.
Junebug’s bar room, an elegant space framed by four arches adorned with 128 hand-painted rosettes, is illuminated by a stunning constellation of ten bespoke lights crafted by renowned lighting artist Rick Singleton. Each light, sculpted from vintage Victrola trumpets, evokes the delicate form of hanging flowers. The ambiance is further enhanced by wall sconces and overhead lights made from cymbals, continuing the restaurant's musical homage.
Both the restaurant and event space open up to a tranquil, 2,000-square-foot patio, featuring lush bamboo stands and sweeping views of the historic St. Patrick’s Church bell tower. The space seamlessly blends elements of nature and music and is richly adorned with wallpaper artist Olga Mulica's striking Night Pelican mural and Harney and Sons floral wallpaper, while the warm patina of exposed brick highlights the building's storied past, creating an atmosphere of refined charm and timeless elegance.
A labor of love in both the kitchen and behind the bar, Junebug and serves as and an homage to New Orleans Rhythm & Blues and Funk music. And in fact, Junebug’s home at 744 Camp Street in the Warehouse District is holy ground for serious music fans. Between 1967 and 1978, this was the headquarters of legendary producer Cosimo Matassa’s recording studio. Allen Toussaint recorded hundreds of songs here, and the Meters coalesced in this studio. It’s where they recorded groundbreaking funk hits like Cissy Strut, with its distinctive opening bass line by George Porter Jr. This legacy is honored by Junebug's 600 album collection that'll spin continuously as a tip of the hat to the building's rich musical spirit.
